The Story of PEEK

I’m Stephanie “Jo” Bowman, art and enviro-educator and designer of the Biodiversity PEEK Elementary STEAM curricula. PEEK got its start with kids who asked to join our Biodiversity Group scientists who were exploring and collecting data on wildlife near their communities in Ecuador, Vietnam and the Caribbean. We said “Yes” to the kids and their parents joining us and soon their teachers were asking us to create lessons they could use in school to connect to their hands-on, outdoor experiences. As a long-time K-12 classroom teacher I knew how much kids, teachers, and parents back in the USA and beyond needed similar, easy-to-use, super affordable, down-to-earth, STEAM lessons to get outside and investigate their own backyard wildlife.
